The Tax Gallery started in 1956 and has been located on Troost Avenue in the heart of Kansas City ever since. We continue to pride ourselves on extremely reasonable rates, great customer service, and a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
The original owners, Albert & Doris Gerecht, retired in the fall of 1995 and sold the business to Melanie and Ken, who had worked for them for seven and six years respectively.
Mel, SK, and Ken — three of our preparers — have a combined 100 years of tax experience. We are up to date on all tax issues and look forward to helping you with your taxes. We all are like family and we feel we have the best staff in the business. Please come see us.

Mel and Ken bought the business from Albert & Doris Gerecht in the fall of 1995, after working here for seven and six years respectively.
SK
Tax preparer
SK joined The Tax Gallery in January 1997 and has been preparing taxes here ever since. He is our main computer guru and runs the office in the off-season.
Josh
Tax preparer
Josh has been preparing taxes with us for over eight years. During the off-season he works as an EMT. He is a very valuable member of our team.

Office manager
The best office manager in the business, with us since 2004. She checks you in, answers the phone, assists the preparers — she does it all.

Deitra has been with us since 2005. When you pick up your taxes neatly in order in your packet, you can thank Deitra.
